BATS Theatre Co. Inc. is proud to present

Night Must Fall

A classic thriller

By Emlyn Williams

Directed by David Wilson

This is a gripping murder thriller, with delightfully dark characters. Experience the chills and thrills that this classic psychological study holds in store.

There is a sinister sexual undercurrent to Dan, a role Williams wrote for himself and played in the West End and on Broadway. He charms his way into an English household belonging to a Mrs. Bramson, a miserly invalid. She wakes one morning to find a police investigation going on in her backyard. A glamorous widow from the town has been reported missing, though Mrs. Bramson can’t see what this news has to do with her, or why it should get in the way of her routine scolding of the servants.

Mrs. Bramson’s niece Olivia soon suspects Dan may have been involved in the disappearance, but finds herself strangely attracted to him. The household contains some delightful characters including Dora, the maid who fell for Dan’s charms, Mrs Terence, the no-nonsense cook who gives Mrs Bramson as good as she gets, and Hubert, Olivia’s not-too-bright suitor from the city. You will enjoy their interplay, as the tension builds – will the murderer strike again?
