Fundraiser success!

Fundraiser success!

BATS recently concluded its very successful season of The Fox on the Fairway. This is a modern American farce, but written very much in the mould of classic farces with lots of scheming, misunderstandings, accidents, thwarted love, coincidences, and of course long lost children. It was very well received by audiences, as well as being great fun for cast and crew.

A special aspect of this season was that the opening night was run as a fundraiser for The Buderim Foundation. The Buderim Foundation is a local not-for-profit philanthropic community foundation, which raises money in order to build an investment fund. The fund is carefully managed so that earnings can then be given as grants to community organisations such as the Coast Guard, Life Flight, Scouts and Legacy. BATS has benefited from this, most recently receiving a grant for equipment to help repair and maintain costumes.

For the opening night of The Fox on the Fairway, all ticket sale proceeds were dedicated to The Buderim Foundation. In support of this, the Buderim War Memorial Hall (owned by the Buderim War Memorial Community Association) also waived their normal hall hire fee. BATS is excited to announce that we were able to raise $2,487.21 for The Buderim Foundation from this fundraiser event.

In the photo for the cheque handing over is (from left) Gary Dillon, Chair of the Philanthropy Committee of the Buderim Foundation, Dr Russell Stitz, Chair of the Buderim Foundation, and BATS President Alice Rea. A great wrap to a very successful season!
