“Deckchairs”

Five playlets

By Jean McConnell

Jean McConnell has written five twist-in-the-tail playlets, (two women required for each playlet) – all set on a seaside promenade – that are by turns funny and poignant.

These delightful plays run for approximately fifteen minutes each. They are all set in the present.

About the plays

Shoppers is a comedy and is about two well-to-do shopaholics who have a rather surprising secret.

Early Blight is a drama. It is a heart-breaking exploration of a doomed mother/daughter relationship.

Dancers is a comedy. It wittily dissects the tea dancing world of two skittish women.

Late Frost is a drama in which a woman finds out her best friend had an affair with her late husband.

Doggies is a comedy. An hilarious tale about two very different types of dog-owner.
