Auditions for “A Night at Little Grimley” on soon at BATS Theatre!

Monday 7th July!

fat-ladyImagine amateur theatre at its best, and then imagine it at its worst… welcome to the world of the Little Grimley Amateur Theatre Society, and get ready for a night of chaotic fun, crazy characters and downright desperation – all in the quest for a good play and a decent audience!

The Last Tango in Little Grimley.

The first of these three one act plays (Cast 2 male 2 female, ages 20 – 35).

Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society is in trouble. The membership has dwindled to four – the audiences aren’t much bigger – and if they don’t come up with some rent money soon, they’re going to be thrown out. “There’s only one thing that sells tickets these days” argues Gordon the Chairman. “Sex!”

Thus begins the chaotic and hilarious build-up to an evening of extraordinary home-grown drama – an evening the locals would never forget!

The Last Panto in Little Grimley.

The second in the series (Cast 2 male 2 female, ages 30 – 50).

The Last Tango in Little Grimley sees Gordon, Margaret, Joyce and Bernard tackle the Christmas pantomime with predictably hilarious results.

Imagine the possibility of everything going wrong – and then it does! And yet somehow goes right.

The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley.

The final in this crazy series (Cast 2 male 2 female, ages 50 – 65).

Gordon, Margaret, Joyce and Bernard are back to tackle yet another threat to their survival – this time in the shape of a rival am-dram, newly-formed in their village, determined to upstage them with an award-winning musical.

The querulous quartet pull together to devise an ingenious military-style plan that doesn’t, well, go quite to plan.  When their subterfuge is discovered by the rival society’s psychopathic front-of-house manager, he’s none too pleased.

Add in a few emotional complications for Gordon, and things look a little grim for Little Grimley.  Could this finally be the end of their society?

Don’t be so sure.  It’s never over…until the fat lady sings.
